Stargate

In November 1922 Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamun’s tomb which sparked popular interest influencing the visual arts in Europe, especially in  fashion and textiles. This design was originally printed in 1923 and is fine example of the Art Deco Egyptian Revival, which now makes a beautiful artwork to invoke the mystical realms.

The Ancient Egyptians used magic rituals in their daily lives to Invoke the Gods, to create a sacred space and manifest divine ascension. By invoking the deities of ancient Egypt, you create a "stargate" to enter other dimensions, receive messages and become one with the gods.

According to the philosopher Iamblichus in his book, On the Mysteries of Egypt…

"It is through evoking higher spiritual powers by means of rites of Supernatural Magick that humans come to true realization of what they are in essence: eternal spiritual entities."

This archive print has been lovingly restored and reproduced using digital printing and ethically sourced materials.
