Jupiter Blooms

Originally created in 1935, Jupiter Blooms captures the spirited elegance of decorative floral illustration. Scattered blossoms dance across the composition in airy clusters of vermilion, chalk  blue, soft stones and evergreens, creating a lightness reminiscent of printed summer cottons and painterly studio sketches.

The design embraces movement and spontaneity, allowing colour and form to overlap with an almost hand-painted softness. Seven carved printing plates interlock to imprint layered tones and delicate variations reflecting the artistry of traditional textile block printing. Its cheerful palette and loosely arranged florals embody the decorative optimism of the mid-1930s.
