Wander into the woods with clouds of beaming mimosa and travel into another realm… 

Botanists in the French Riviera, imported the Mimosa from Australia around 1850, these glowing trees became greatly admired and populated the gardens of the coastlines and the flowers were particularly popular in the development of French perfumes.

 The Latin name for the Mimosa is Acacia, the ancient symbol of the trees has been found to represent physical and spiritual nourishment, transformation, union and fertility as the tree naturally serves with an abundance of medicinal benefits.

Some species of Mimosa are used in shamanic psychedelic as they contain dimethyltryptamine which is found in the root bark.

Spotting a tree can be sign of protection and immortality, the flowering yellow puffs are like the sun representing joy, friendship and love.

Designed circa late 1930's in the South of France, this was originally a textile design created for home furnishing fabrics.

This archive print has been lovingly restored and reproduced using digital printing and ethically sourced materials.
